System One Program Manager in Amelia, Louisiana

Job Purpose:

Coordinates all facets of the management of complex new construction programs to which he/she is assigned. This includes, but is not limited to management of the planning, scheduling, acquisition of materials, progress evaluation and reporting. The Program Manager is tasked with responsibility for each program execution such that a quality product is delivered on time and in accordance with the established budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

• ensure that the program is managed and completed on time, with emphasis on efficiency to achieve planned budget

• provide resources and guidance to ensure that a quality product is built to specification and regulatory requirements and that the contract is adhered to by all parties

• negotiate with vendors and customers to optimize program profitability

• assist in development of bid and change order estimates

• ensures corporate business systems have been properly set up for program

• conduct required timely program meetings including build strategy and kick-off meetings

• serve as point of contact between program stakeholders

• oversee preparation of labor & material tasks in accordance with approved Quality Management System (QMS) procedures

• assist Planning & Scheduling with the development and release of Work Packages

• oversee program construction schedule

• assist with all procurement activities the development of requisitions and the issuance of Purchase Orders

• oversee the expediting of all program related materials and services

• approve service invoices based on performance progress payments

• oversee the periodic update of program status for labor and material, and the development of required program Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports

• develop and manage sub-contract service agreements

• coordinate subcontractor work schedules & scope w/ production

• conduct weekly program meetings with all program stakeholders

• coordinate the development and submittal of timely customer invoices

• oversee and implement change order process

• conduct or prepare a written postmortem at program completion

• manage program files in accordance with Conrad standards

• delegate work via assigned assistants in an effort maintain overall Program requirements

• experience with shipbuilding and/or manufacturing operations

• ability to interpret, understand, & implement organization’s policies and procedures

• experience with understanding and adhering to specifications and contracts

• excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem solving skills with the ability to utilize reference material and resources

• excellent communication skills with the ability to read and write effectively, speak with clarity and listen actively

• excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to promote customer satisfaction, respect diversity, and resolve conflicts

• must be able to adapt to situations while maintaining the highest level of efficiency and professionalism

• possesses group leadership ability

• actively supports and commits to organization’s mission, vision, and values

• knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

• knowledge of business and program management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

• knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, and other office procedures and industry standard terminology

• ability to read and interpret program related drawings, documents and spreadsheets

• ability to write routine reports and effective correspondence

• ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees

Education and/or Experience:

• degree from an accredited college

• 10+ years related shipyard or program management and/or engineering experience

• equivalent combination of education and experience
