System One Senior RF Engineer in Butler, New Jersey
Perform all duties of a microwave engineer with 10 or more years of experience, by exercising independent judgment and action.
Perform engineering work of various types in the design or re-design, manufacture, installation, operation, or maintenance of passive and active components and systems, such as microwave filters, couplers, switches, and switched filter banks (including DC logic and driving circuits), as well as maintenance of high-power stations (for test purposes).
Hands-on skills for troubleshooting/tuning RF boards and systems are required.
Design and development of RF components and systems, such as filters, switches, and/or simple amplifier configurations, using Ansoft HFSS, Ansoft Designer, Genesys, and other custom software (experience with DC circuitry for logic and driving purposes of active devices is also required).
Backs up and debriefs work of engineering staff
Work with current high power amplifier stations to ensure continuity of available technology (support re-design and documentation).
Assisting lab technicians by simulating test results and recommending circuit
modifications to improve performance
Gathering and tabulating final data and circuit changes required to achieve specified performance.
Configure gain blocks, switches and ferrite devices, in combination with filters, to realize microwave integrated assemblies, such as switched filter banks (both RF and DC boards).
Extends R&D work by following applicable technologies of switched filters, tunable filters, etc.
Preparing acceptance test, qualification test, and other procedures for use of lab technicians and other engineers.
Interfaces with mechanical design and test lab, answering questions and providing guidance.
Contributing to customer proposals
Participation in internal company seminars and design reviews.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Physics
10+ years minimum experience (experience focused on components and system design rather than antennas or propagation, communication link-budget, capacity, and other topics belonging to the RF network world).
Knowledge in driving/biasing circuits and basic logic networks such as the ones required for the control of a switch.
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card) required.
