Formatted Job Description:

As a Regional OH Physician, you will take a leadership role in the governance and development of service delivery and programmes, overseeing service quality to improve standards, drive capability development and ensure compliance. Overall, your aim is to make sure employee health risks, including occupational health risks are managed proactively, resulting in a healthy, engaged, and productive workforce.

This role is designed to lead and influence; therefore, it requires the ability to build partnerships with senior leaders across a wide variety of sites and oversee and facilitate the development of processes as well as capability of others. This includes overseeing a dotted line relationship with OH/Wellbeing colleagues and assisting in designing & implementing a robust governance framework.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing delivery of high-quality Occupational Health services across all COMPANY sites within the region. This includes health surveillance, health promotion, on-site clinical services, and providing subject matter expertise on biohazards, chemical hazards, and physical hazards, to ensure compliance with local legislation and all relevant company standards and processes.

• To partner with key COMPANY stakeholders regionally and globally to understand business needs and risks (based upon available data) and develop evidence-based plans to proactively optimize Health & Wellbeing ‘HWB’. This includes supporting implementation, delivery, and development of governance processes.

• Monitoring progress of strategic HWB delivery in region, analyze/share relevant data with key COMPANY regional stakeholders, seek feedback and modify processes and implementation as required.

• Governance and oversight of occupational health services and staff, this includes employees in direct line, within the matrix and services delivered through third-party provision.

• Ensuring that all HWB risks and opportunities are escalated to all relevant regional and global governance forums.

• Ensuring capability and professional development of COMPANY’s regional employee health team, this includes 1-1 mentoring, coaching, and giving input into talent management processes. (There are direct reports to this role across the US, Canada and LATAM.)

• To provide support to relevant country specific CEBs/IMTs within region as required. This includes emergency preparedness, business continuity and other country specific issues impacting upon HWB.

• Acting as a strong advocate of HWB across the company. This includes representing EHW internally and externally with key stakeholders, benchmarking forums, advisory boards, industry groups and peer organizations to ensure EHW services are impactful and to influence thought leaders both internally and externally, in support of COMPANY’s mission and vision

• Medical Degree – Qualified physician with license to practice in the US (or within 6 months of completion)

• Experience in employee Health and Wellbeing/Occupational health, including operational service delivery.

• Experience of varied project management, including leading projects

Preferred Qualifications and experience:

• Experience within both public and private organizations

• Additional relevant certification/qualification, such as a master’s in occupational medicine/Public Health

• Excellent communication skills, both written, oral and ability to present ideas and concepts within group settings.

• Ability to engage, communicate and influence effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

• Coaching and leadership experience

• Ability to critically evaluate issues, apply a system thinking mindset and problem solve effectively.

• Well-developed awareness of self, others and how to be flexible as required.
