System One Medical Editor in Watts, California

Job Title: Medical Editor

Location: US Based Remote

Hours/Schedule: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $28 to $38/hr

Type: Contract 7/29/2024 - 12/29/2024

Responsibilities

  • Edit consumer-facing articles to incorporate medical reviewer comments. Article are 2-3 pages, typically < 5 min read.

  • Focus of articles include an overview of a condition (risk factors through treatment) or a specific part of the care journey (e.g., diagnosis, treatment, risk reduction, diagnostic test/procedure, treatment procedure, medication).

  • May require referencing reputable publicly available sources to verify information.

  • Incorporate edits into documents provided in MS Word format (.docx), written in consumer-appropriate language (reading level target - 7th grade)

  • Provide guidance to other staff to identify appropriate imagery (photo or other graphic) for the article

  • Maintain tracking sheet of article assignments

    Requirements

  • Experience writing or editing consumer health education material for a U.S. audience

  • 3+ to 5 years experience

  • Peer to peer review experience
